On a personal note learnt lots of things about self during the last 22/23 days. Biggest lesson is that it's not easy to walk away from commitment. Cheers for the original nomination...
22 US Veterans take their life each day. This challenge highlighting senseless loss of life predominantly driven by despair, depression and loss. PTSD and mental issues blight our society. Support our vets, either by donating time (push-ups) or money.

Spent with running group at Blaise Castle. This challenge is about Supporting tragic loss of life of US Vets through suicide as part of PTDS and depression.
On a personal note learnt lots of things about self during the last 22/23 days. Biggest lesson is that it's not easy to walk away from commitment. Cheers for the original nomination...

Day 19: Soaring Heights
Day 19: only realised today I started this challenge on the first day of August. No idea why I've struggled with the correct day tag.
Today's challenge on route to Portishead Lido. From middle of Avonmouth Bridge. A place that has witnessed first hand the consequences of depression and despair. #22PushupsIN22Days
Highlighting the fact that there are 22 vets a day that are committing suicide, and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue. To expand, suicide in general needs to be signalled as a shocking waste of life.
If you accept the nomination - you start tomorrow!
The rules are simple:
* Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day.
* Every day you record yourself doing
22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video.
* Every day you must nominate a different person. Try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it.
* And finally, have fun with this. This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and its sad that so many veterans feel that suicide is the only way out.

Day 18: Rest and Recreation
Day 18: Total rest day but doing the 22 for 22 Push-up Challenge.
Had a few wines with dinner so just ignore my inability to count - in the video. Just because I've been a qualified accountant, as shown throughout this challenge - my counting is very poor - shite really: I blame my dependancy on the calculator.
On the positive, had kids over. Cheers @amy and Tom, round 2 as Miss Lilly joined us for dinner yesterday. My challenge is turning into a journal of what people with PTSD must face daily. Big ups... if you have the ability to support the cause.. please do. Xxx

Day 17: Picture Silence
Day 17 of 22 Push-ups for 22 days done.
Honest.... just a little fed-up with the video marlarkey. Supporting vet and others in the fight to increase the impact of PTDS in life.
Have a good day out there. Xxx

Day 16: Trail Blaising ...
Day 16 of 22 push-ups for 22 days challenge. Mixing it with Trail Blaisers @Blaise.Castle. Beautiful evening for a run. Remembering that not every day is sunny for the sufferers of PTDS ... #RunHappy.
Day 15: Second wind
Day 15 of 22 push-ups 4 22 days challenge. Highlighting senseless loss of life predominantly driven by despair, depression and loss. PTSD and mental issues blight our society. Support our vets, either by donating time (push-ups) or money. This has been one of the most difficult challenges. Not because of the push-ups but because of the commitment to be visibly accountable.
Day 13: Hotwells ... enjoying the Floating 'arbour
Day 13. 22 in 22 days. Hubby's a bit grumpy but life is too short. ... stunning Bristol.
Almost two weeks - still committed to completing this challenge. Have noticed the nominating's slipped to the wayside.
How much pressure has been applied by that single requirement? Megaloads.

Day 12: Battery Point, Portishead
Day 12 doing 22 press-up in 22 days.
Losing plot as I try to convince self it's day 14 and I noticed I've skipped day 10. Le sigh. Highlighting senseless loss of life of US vets, however very aware of how the blanket of doom (black dog) can affect all. Beautiful windy Battery Point Portishead.
It's a mad hair day. Nominations? Any self nominators going to give me - say 12 press ups! Dare you... #22pushup22days #PortisheadLIdo

Day 11: Little Stoke in the mix
Day 11 of 22. Push-ups out at Little Stoke park. All me running buddies on holidays or injured. Hope it went well mates, windy but lovely out.
Day 10: Jonnie-no-mates ...
Halfway through this challenge. Not nominating again. Why? Jonnie no mates... most of my friends are injured or worse, couldn't press up leaning against a wall. Harsh but true, and this challenge is not about shaming people.
The rules are simple:
* Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day.

Although pleased me cuzzie Aroha stepped up and has done 5 in a row, probably 1st time since intermediate. Chur Sis... It's about highlighting the senseless loss of life through suicide. #22pushups4Days22

Day Nine: Looking for inspiration ...
Day 9 of 22 push ups in 22 days. Highlighting the loss of life of military veterans through suicide No video today, just a poor quality snapshot. Trying new hand positions. Looking for motivation... inspiration.
Day Eight: Nose to Grindstone ... or just a grind
Day 8 of 22 press-up in 22 days. Struggling so done on knees. Blooming hard.
Highlighting that depression and anxiety can't be switched off by a switch. If there's something I've learned during this challenge it's easy to complete a one off, it's easy to donate time or money... it's much harder to follow through and be there day by day.

Day Six: Celebrating the moment ... like a Hurricane
22 press-up for 22 days. Not looking pretty and apologies for the belly shots but again reflection of challenges that face us all. But this is not about us, it's about the daily grind that claims 22. US vets everyday thru suicide. Cheeky salute to my rugby heroes #Hurricanes. Now that's also a story of dogmatic persistence too.
Day Five: Seizing the moment
22 press-up in 22 days challenge highlighting the senseless loss of life of veterans thru predominantly PTSD. Today's effort at The Lamplighters Inn.
Some days the reality just doesn't go to plan so you have to seize the moment. Not the right place, not the right gear but its not about me...

Day Three: Second Challenge ... asking for help
Day 3 of 22 press-up in 22 days. Today's effort made me think hard about the day to day challenges faced by most people including vets. #portisheadLido. Cheers Chris Jeanes! No nomination today.
In particular, reaching out to people around ... why do I struggle to ask for help from others?
Out in the community ... mixing it with a bit of swimming!

Day Four: Go Pokemon...
22 Press-up for 22 days.
Got family around and post dinner made the commitment. Note the males bolting but fair play to number one stepson, missed the bullet as been nominated by mutual friend.
To be fair the step-daughter tried but struggled... proud she gave it a shot. Half a press-up and becoming an instagram star ... can't go wrong.
This challenge is about highlighting the struggles vets face every day - todays focus is about families. Cheers Cameraman Tom. Nominating... someone (2nd person in four days).

Day Two: Plugging on ...
Realising it is difficult to find nominee who is:
- Uninjured,
- physically capable,
- a fellow nominee, and or
- willing to accept the challenge.
Failed in Day One to nominate!
Starting to feel the pressure.
Starting to feel the pressure.
Day 2 of the 22 press-up for 22 days. I nominate my brother-in-law, a proper vet who can turn this down. Struggling to identify fit people to participate in challenge. Honour the people who have served our countries wherever in the world. The rules are - start the day post nomination, supposed to nominate and video each day but just support is good enough for me.
Day One: Why did I accept the challenge ..
Day 1:
So the day after I got nominated ... I committed.
Question - Can I do a single push-up? Let alone 22!
Apparently - I can. Shite video but 22 pushups over 22 Days to support Veterans Challenge - Suicide is an ugly waste of lives. Day 1 complete. Taken half an hour to upload. Ladies Days not until November so I've got more than 22 days to support this cause but why is there no donations page. I nominate ...

Push-up Challenge
Seems like a simple strategy - to highlight the tragic daily loss of life of US Veterans; on average 22 ex-personnel every day. Similar to the ice bucket challenge from a few years ago. Just another social FaceBook experiment.
Hell no ...
Turns out that it's not that simplistic. Here is the fact:
1 Been nominated.
So what does being it mean?
1 Do I accept the challenge?
2 Can I even do a push-up?
3 Who can I nominate and how many times am I required to nominate?
4 How long will it take to bore/annoy the pants off of all my FB friend (let alone my real friends)?
5 How realistically can I change the world by doing push-ups?
This is my push-up journey.
There are 22 vets a day that are committing suicide, and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue. You start tomorrow!
The rules are simple:
* Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day.
* Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video.
